This 3 hour workshop is the first in our 2 part series on cold brew production. In this class, we will go over the basics of choosing a coffee for cold brew and developing a recipe. This class will cover:
· The science of extraction when brewing with cold water vs. hot water
· How to create a recipe using concentration vs. dilution
· How origin, roast levels, nitrogenating, and ratio choices affect the final cup
· Cost considerations
· Best practices for consistency and safety, including an introduction to FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) compliance
